Andreas - the Artist

Andreas has been writing Haiki for years, first published in 2006. He began sketching in the early 1980s and later began making paper (industrial and manual), working with cardboard and alternative materials. His first exposition (1980s) was as part of a team working on the topic 'experience paper', sponsored by Zanders Feinpapiere A.G., Germany.

Continuing performance brought more materials, more techniques into his repertoire and around the same time he discovered Zen as a way to live. He started to use writing Haiku as his individual tool to focus himself without focusing on himself.

Born and raised in Germany, Andreas is trained in the best traditions of "Das Bauhaus" and "Joseph Beuys" (by a former student of Beuys) He was strongly influenced by Joachim Ernst Behrendt and his radio shows as a youth (and likely the only one in the whole city listening to it). A lover of Jazz from Miles Davis to Free-Jazz as well as modern classics from Faure, Paert, Schoenberg, Reich and Glass continue to influence him.
